The Club at Shoal Creek

The late Hall Thompson loved the game of golf. Loved it. Everything about it. With most serious golfers, the intense love of the game stops there. But not for Hall. He wanted to build the best golf course in the region, and maybe the whole country.

If you are stepping onto the tee box of the No. 1 hole just as the sun is beginning to peek around the mountain, you may well be convinced that Hall achieved his goal.

The Club forms the heart of the community. Membership is by invitation. Along with the Jack Nicklaus-designed championship golf course and a nine-hole par-three course (the “Little Links”), the Club offers swimming, club dining and events.

The Community of Shoal Creek partnered with the USGA to host the 2018 US Women’s Open Championship. With television broadcasts in over 100 countries, the whole world got a front row seat to Shoal Creek and the best female golfers in the game. It was a spectacular success and exceeded expectations for all involved. Thompson’s vision was realized and he certainly would have been proud.
